Tense story, but even better sequels

I remember playing this game a couple of years back, and unfortunately had already played Arkham City (the sequel) before I started this. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the atmosphere, gameplay and graphics of this amazing Batman third-person game.

I've never been a huge fan of the combat style, but this was actually the first time I enjoyed "hacking and slashing" because the defence and combo mechanics were so well integrated, and it really made the fights feel smooth and like you were in control of Mr. Wayne's movements.

The story, especially with all the well known villains (who are all portrayed and voiced fantastically), is probably the best part of the game. The only reason I am not giving it any more than 4 stars, is that both of the sequels - Arkham City & Arkham Origins - are even better and both deserve at least 4.5 stars. I cannot speak for Arkham Knight and Arkham VR as I haven't played these instalments, but I definitely wouldn't pass the opportunity to finish off the Arkham series if I ever get the time to enjoy a good Batman game again.
