- Review: Dayz Standalone
DayZ is not only a game. It's also a symbol of growth, development, and the ability to overcome whatever gets in the way. DayZ is... Hope. I have to say, I really find joy reading the funny reviews, good and bad. At least those people took the time to be creative rather than just spew misguided opinions about the game. One thing that everyone really has to understand is that the developers are trying. I can see where some are coming from when they argue that enough has changed over the 4 years this game has been in Early Access. Nonetheless, the devs have been trying all along and they have been making big moves since 2013. And now, with 2018 being called "the Year of DayZ," many people are skeptical, hopeless, and completely unimaginative. I believe that 2018 will be DayZ's year. I have enjoyed sticking with this game through thick and thin. DayZ is really just like a kid going through school. You think that in the early stages of elementary school that big things are going to happen. Most kids enjoy going to school in their early years. Then, they enter middle school and they realize how monotonous school can be, and this was DayZ about two and a half years after Early Access release. Now, everyone's here is high school. Senior year to be exact. Everyone's just ready to get out of high school. Many people are just done with school in general. Well, for DayZ, Senior year is almost over. It's about to enter the real world with all the other big games. And, again, it's just like a student in that it needs support, hope, and trust that it will make it. Needless to say, it has my trust. I urge all of the naysayers to really step back and see DayZ in the bigger picture. It's been 4 years of growth and development and when all had seemed lost and hopeless, here we are, about to be out of Early Access.
Average rating: Review this game
So, don't look at DayZ for how long it's been in Early Access of how long it's taken the developers to make big leaps. Judge DayZ for all the hard work, late nights, and lost sleep that has gone into the production of a truly extensive, amazing game. Remember that DayZ is open world and open survival. Remember how much content the game and the entire map has. Maybe you too will start to see how hard it may have been to turn a game mod into a full game with the quality of DayZ. Nothing comes fast, nor easy in life, especially the best things.
Simply put, just have an open mind. Have hope, have trust, and have faith. We're about to enter the year of DayZ, why not come along for the ride?
